Jesus on the Cross

Jesus was crucified by the Roman Empire approx. 33 A.D. at the command of Pontius Pilate.

Christians believe that three days later God raised Jesus from the grave, forever defeating the power sin and death have over us and the world.

God With Us

We hold many beliefs about God very dear, but knowing God personally is infinitely more important than the opinions we hold about the Lord. We can know a lot about God and still not know God.

We believe that God is not some detached diety up in the sky who looks down on us with mild interest.  God is involved in our lives, in this world.  We believe that God is so involved in this world that He actually became a human being and that human we know by the name of Jesus. Jesus lived in the middle-east, way back in the first century. He was tempted like us, experienced pain and loss like us. The whole human experience - Jesus lived it.

Jesus is God's most vivid revelation of who God is and what the heart of God is like.  When people looked at Jesus when he was walking around the deserts of Palestine, they were literally looking at the face of God.  When we read about Jesus in the Bible we're reading about God himself.  When people encounter Jesus today, they encounter God. People believe a lot of things about Jesus and we think that some of those beliefs are very important, but getting to know God personally is more important than having all the right answers.
